Kathryn MacFarlane, Pharm.D. – member of Board of Directors

Ms. MacFarlane, a Director since 2014, has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with expertise in research and development, new product planning, and commercialization. Ms. MacFarlane is the co-founder, owner and Managing Partner of SmartPharma LLC, a pharmaceutical consulting firm specializing in commercial consulting for emerging pharmaceutical companies. She was formerly the Chief Commercial Officer at Agile Therapeutics Inc, Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and New Product Planning at Warner Chilcott, and held senior level roles in drug development, marketing, and sales management at Parke-Davis and Pfizer. Ms. MacFarlane played a key role in the launch of several leading brands, most notably Lipitor®, Celexa®, and Loestrin®24, and she has provided advice to over 100 biopharmaceutical companies and investors to support financing, licensing, and acquisition of drug products and technologies. Ms. MacFarlane earned a B.S. and PharmD from Purdue University and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship with Rutgers University and Hoffmann-LaRoche. She was named a Distinguished Alumna and was awarded the Eaton Entrepreneur of the Year by the Purdue University School of Pharmacy, where she currently is an Affiliate Faculty member. Ms. MacFarlane is Chairwoman on the Finance Committee for the Board of Directors of INMED Partnerships for Children, and a member of the Executive Committee of the Woodley Park Community Association.
